Golden Gaming, Inc. (GGI) is a premier operator of casinos, taverns, and gaming services. The company focuses on a service culture, innovation and proprietary products to distance itself from its competition. Golden Rewards program developed by GGI is the most unique player rewards program in the tavern industry today. GGI today employs more than 3,000 team members throughout Nevada and Colorado and continues to position itself as the premier operator of casinos, taverns and gaming devices in these states.
Challenge:
GGI found that the process of manually calculating employee tips was highly inefficient and was consuming excessive amounts of payroll personnel time. They were also not able to import employee hours and tip information from their Kronos Time and Attendance system into Sage Abra Payroll. Manual adjustments were required in the calculation of employee garnishments, another unnecessary and time-consuming procedure. They also had a problem in balancing employee wage bases and taxes at the end of each fiscal quarter and at year-end. To find a resolution to all these payroll issues, they approached their Sage Abra reseller, who advised them that Employee Based Systems had developed a number of software products which would help solve all the problems they were experiencing.
Solution:
Using EZ-Time Import product from EBS, the import of employee data from the Kronos system into Sage Abra was accomplished easily and efficiently. EZ Tip is fully- integrated with Sage Abra Payroll and also automatically imports Kronos Time and Attendance data as well as hours, gross receipts, tip data, flat amounts, etc. from any output file format. Additionally, since EZ-Tip is designed specifically to automatically calculate employee tips, it made this process both more efficient and more accurate than the manual processes formerly in place.
GGI also implemented EBS’ EZ-Wage and Tax application. This helped in the balancing of employee wage bases and taxes for fiscal quarters and at year-end. EZ Wage and Tax is designed to locate employee wage and tax imbalances in a payroll run, which helps to resolve all these imbalances quickly and accurately. The third EBS product which GGI decided to implement is EBS’ EZ-GARN product. EZ-GARN reduces the burden of manual adjustments in the calculating employee garnishments. The program has the ability to automatically re-calculate garnishments for employees, whose scheduled check amount exceeds the maximum allowable amount.
